Thais Sasso was recently awarded a US$1,000 grant from the eDNA Collaborative team.

The fund covered laboratory material to analyse environmental DNA from water samples. Thais will use the PowerWater kit to extract DNA from streams and look for traces of frog and fungus' DNA in the water.

Thais sampled 276 L of water across 5 months of surveys in QLD National Parks. This work is part of a CSA project to understand the consequences of the 2019 bushfires on frogs.

The eDNA Collaborative team is committed to bring together researchers working with environmental DNA around the world. Thais was the only grant recipient from Australia.
